Ulnar Nerve Transposition

Ulnar nerve transposition

The Ulnar Nerve is the main nerve running through the elbow. A Transposition surgery is when a physician moves the ulnar nerve because it is being compressed. Compression of the Ulnar Nerve can result in “Cubital Tunnel Syndrome” and is the second-most common nerve entrapment syndrome following carpal tunnel syndrome.

Procedure

If non-invasive treatments do not relieve the symptoms in your elbow, a surgery may be recommended.

Recovery Time

The surgery may be done on an out-patient basis or may require one night in the hospital. This will depend on the patient and the recommendation of your doctor. The nerves will need several months to heal and a full recover time will vary based on the severity of nerve and tissue damage.
