Dr. Brent McCarty Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon Hand and Upper Extremity Specialist
Northshore Hand Surgeon, Dr. Brent McCarty was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi before opening his practice on the northshore. He finished his undergraduate degree at Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. After that, he went to the University of Mississippi for Medical School. Dr. McCarty is a board certified orthopedic surgeon. He is fellowship trained in the treatment of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder.
Dr. McCarty has been fascinated by the anatomy and function of the upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow and hand) ever since his gross anatomy class in his first year of medical school.

As a northshore hand surgeon, Dr. McCarty treats patients with a variety of conditions in the shoulder, elbow, and hand. During his fellowship, Dr. McCarty specialized in these areas of the body. He also treats issues with the nerves, tendons, bones, joints and blood vessels.
A father of three busy children, Dr. McCarty enjoys spending most of his free time with his family. When not in the office or the OR, he will most likely be found playing catch, kicking a ball, on the sideline, in a pool, or behind a grill. He and his family are members of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Covington.
